Monday - Flat Classroom Project -
  • Get your name on your wiki page. (See directions from last week.)
  • Research - Find 3 articles that have information about your site. Pick important parts out of your articles and paraphrase what the article says. Write a few sentences for each article. Put each paragraph and the url for that article on a google doc and share it with me. Grammar and spelling count! Tomorrow we will use those paragraphs and add them to your Flat Classroom Page. We will also cite the sources correctly tomorrow.

  • Go to your Project page and see what has been added. Read the discussions on the discussion tab.

Tuesday - Flat Classroom Project -
  • How do I cite a source?
    • Find an article with information about your topic and copy the url.
    • In a new tab, go to the Citing Sources page and follow directions there. Use bibme.org instead of citation machine. Practice doing that on this wiki.

Information: Add one line of text paraphrased from your article here and then add the citation below.

Google's missing people finder, developed in less than 36 hours by Google engineers "in consultation with the U.S. State Department," is available in English, French and Creole and helps people find missing people in Haiti.

Citations: Add your practice citation here.

  • Look for a picture that fits for your project, if no picture has been added yet.
  • Add 3 sources of information and one piece of information. Material must be paraphrased - Do NOT copy and paste.

Tuesday and Wednesday - Flat Classroom Project - Continue researching and editing the wiki. Add 3 links and 3 pieces of information each day. Be sure to make a comment at the bottom of the wiki each time you edit. Also, read the discussion tab on the wiki and stay in touch with your group on the Ning.

Thursday - Flat Classroom Project -
  • Check in with your group on the Ning.
  • Read the discussion tab on your wiki page and reply to any discussions.
  • Find a copyright free picture that is appropriate for your Project Page. Both the main topic and your sub-topic need a picture. (It must be copyright free.) Add it and the citation to the FC wiki.

  • Add 15-25 words to your wiki page and cite your source.

Friday - Flat Classroom Project - Continue researching and editing the wiki. Add 100 words of information and create your citation. Be sure to make a comment at the bottom of the wiki each time you edit.
